Scroll down to learn about me!
Welcome to my website! My name is Tanner Roncace and I am an Orlando based dancer, singer, and actor. I grew up in the small town of Haddon Township, New Jersey where my passion for performing was born. Singing was my first introduction to the performance world. I began at a very young age in the cherub choir at my church singing my little heart out to “This Little Light of Mine.” A gospel classic if you ask me. Fast forward several years to me in third grade watching my younger sister’s dance recital and becoming instantly inspired to try dance the following year. I started out with hip hop and then began taking up other styles in the following years like jazz and tap. Something about dance just clicked for me and I couldn’t get enough of it. In high school I went on to become a competition dancer with Ovations Dance Studio in Oaklyn, New Jersey. During this same time, I was falling in love with theatre as well. My first musical performance was in fifth grade at a local youth theatre where we put on a production of Pocahontas. Despite the questionable content for the age range, I loved every minute of it. In middle school and high school I took part in every performance opportunity I could find. Some of my personal favorite roles were Bert in Mary Poppins, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, and Willard in Footloose.
After high school, I moved to New York City where I began my studies at Marymount Manhattan College to earn a BFA in Musical Theatre. I had a great start to my educational journey there, getting the opportunity to perform in a student directed production of The Drowsy Chaperone and then a main stage production of Kiss Me, Kate! College life in the big city was definitely a dream come true, but there was another dream still pondering in the back of my mind. Disney was a big part of my childhood and working at Disney World has always been a big item on my bucket list so I applied for the Disney College Program. I was lucky enough to be accepted as a character performer for the fall advantage program of 2018! This was an incredible experience as I got to work alongside some of my best friends such as Peter Pan, Pluto, Mr. Smee, and the skinny legend herself, Mrs. Incredible. I was also cast as a Grave Digger in Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade and as a Baker Chef in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade that year. If you told my younger self that one day he would spend Christmas Day dancing down Main Street USA, that little boy probably would’ve passed out with excitement!
While working at Disney World was a dream come true, I knew that I had unfinished business back at school so I came back to New York to finish out my education like I planned to do in the first place. I managed to get cast in two more main stage musicals at school to round out my educational career. The first being Bring It On and the second being Good News! These were both great educational experiences that definitely broadened my range from the standard dance styles I’ve been accustomed to in the past. After graduating in the dreaded year of 2020 into a global pandemic, I took a step back to evaluate where I wanted to go at the time. I decided that the best place for me to be was my second home in Orlando, so I packed up my life in NYC and headed down to Florida to finish what I started in 2018. I worked my way through all four major theme parks as a performer: Legoland, SeaWorld, Universal, and Disney. I am currently a full time performer at Disney while also pursuing my passion for theatre in the Orlando area as well. I love what I do and am always looking for new opportunities to learn and grow as an artist!
